Hey everyone. It has been awhile since I have posted here. I hope everyone is enjoying the Griffins playoff success this year. Hopefully they can finish these two home games on top, and come back from being down 2 games to 1 vs Utica. As all of you know, I have been collecting Evan McGrath items for many years. I haven't found much as of late. I did buy a Red Wings pre-season jersey of his about six months ago, and I now have 24 game worn jerseys of his, including Detroit, Grand Rapids, Syracuse and Kitchener (OHL) jerseys. I also have several pictures, cards, bobbleheads, etc of his. Unfortunately, the teams in Sweden don't make jerseys or game worn items available at all, as the team uniforms are recycled down to the organizations lower level teams (18 and under, 20 and under, etc.). If anyone finds anything or is looking to sell any McGrath items please feel free to contact me at evanmcgrath17@aol.com I do still have contact with Evan. He has been doing well, playing the last few years in Sweden, most recently and currently with IK Oskarshamn of the Swedish league HockeyAllsvenskan. Him and his wife Maddison now have a one year old daughter. They live in the off-season in Toronto. He does still follow the Griffins, misses Grand Rapids and all of the fans....

EMiF, long time no hear. I, too, have been away from the boards for a long time. Looks like we're not alone.
I do not have any Evan gear, just wanted to say "Hi" and thanks for posting an Evan update. Kinda bumming here today with the Griffins elimination last night. So, begins our summer of transition. Big changes in-store before next year.
Stay healthy.

Hi RedWings, thanks for the message. Hopefully the Griffins will have another strong season for 2015/16.
I know a few fans on here still follow Evan McGrath. He signed during the offseason with HC Thurgau of the Swiss National League B. He has been out of action for a week from a cross check and elbow to the head during an exhibition game against a team from Austria. He will be back playing again with the team's next exhibition game tomorrow (08/29/2015). As a result of the hit he took, he lost two teeth, has a bridge holding three teeth in place and has a fractured lower jaw. He is okay and healing well. He will have to wear some protective gear on his helmet, for his jaw, for the next four to six weeks.....

Hello all! I'm sure most of you already know, Evan McGrath, formerly of the Griffins, officially retired from professional hockey at the end of this past season, ending his career with the Sheffield Steelers of the EIHL (British League). I still have regular contact with him. He is studying to enter the financial planning and insurance industry, which by coincidence is the same industry I am in. He, his wife and daughter live in Niagara Falls, Ontario. He is also working/teaching at an elite hockey school (Kelly Reed Hockey) there primarily doing camps, and most recently working on skating skills with the Niagara Ice Dogs (OHL) team. I have accumulated 37 of his jerseys, making up about half of my game worn jersey collection.
I personally moved from the Sarasota / Fort Myers, Florida area after being there 13 plus years, and for the past year have been in the Dallas / Denton, TX area. I occasionally get to go to the Dallas Stars and Allen Americans (ECHL) games here. I'm hoping to catch the Griffins at some point down in Austin to see them play the Texas Stars. I recently bought tickets to see the Red Wings play at Dallas on January 3, 2020. My wife and I recently added a baby boy to our family. We now have a two month old son named Euan McGrath. My daughter, Sabrina, will be six years old next week. I am still a huge fan of the Red Wings, Griffins, and Toledo Walleye....
I hope all of you are doing great! Enjoy the upcoming season!!!
