A couple little odds and ends I have been too busy to post.
Ericsson is in Detroit getting his ailing wrist examined by the Wings doctors. It is not healing as fast as expected and they are concerned.
Brett Lebda left last nights game with a back injury and didn't make the trip to Columbus. As much as I hate to say it, this may mean a Kindl recall if Meech is not ready to play.
Darren McCarty is expected to be assigned to GR in a week, he says for a short conditioning stint. I hear it might be longer. That should put him hear in time for next weekend's homestand if he doesn't have a setback.

If McCarty is here PLEASE sit Downey down. Playing both these guys at the expense of Mursak or Emmerton or frankly anyone else is not smart, in my opinion.
a) Downey has not played well at all b) We do not need both these guys in the lineup given their roles would be very similiar

b) We do not need both these guys in the lineup given their roles would be very similiar I agree. We don't need two people with that same style in the line-up.

...if Meech is not ready to play. Is there a reason why Meech wouldn't be ready to play - i.e., is he injured also?

Meech has a groin injury I believe (not positive)

Now that you mention it, I think you're right. Forgot about that.
Seems to be a common problem in Detroit this year. Maybe the trainer should put together a new pre-game and pre-practice routine.
