Two questions...First didn't Markov play for the Wings before or am I mistaken on that? Two, would Lebda have to clear waivers to be sent down? We could probably uses his vetern presence on the blue line if the Lebda that played in Detroit is the Lebda we get.

Markov has never played for the wings before, he has played for Nashville, Philadelphia, Carolina, Phoenix and Toronto. Lebda would not have to clear waivers, and I agree if he is the Lebda that played in Detroit last season, but if he is the Lebda that was here for the playoffs, no thanks.

I agree with you on that point. Lebda really didn't play the same in the playoffs. But will all the ice time he was getting at the end of the season, one has to wonder if he was just worn out. I do think that the Wings will keep him around as a "back up" as long as he puts up with it.
