There never are many positions for the GR guys to fill. It just proves what I've been saying all along. Holland has no confidence in the guys in GR. He talks a good game but his actions speak otherwise.

I agree totally Brian,
And in reality, Nill is the one that talks up the prospects, while Holland continually ignores them. What is the point in having a development club if we are not developing players? This has been a very disapointing off-season for Griffins fans, watching our record setting club being scattered to the wind, and the few legitimate prospects being passed over yet again. This is what I was worried about when we signed the affiliation. Looking at some of the players on the wings preliminary roster it would be hard to say that MacLean couldn' t battle with some of those guys for a shot, just to name one...
Detroits Championship club was built by players coming up from Adirondack (AHL) and growing together as a team. Then some extra peieces were added to put them over the top. The time is now to start that over again, and start bringing up young players to mature together in the NHL.

Young players are not going to want to come to the Red Wings organization if there is never a chance to grow and make it to the NHL, unless they leave for another NHL team. They come to the Red Wings Organization because of the championships, Original Six team, the way players are treated but, prospects will start to look past those things to plot their path to the NHL.
I understand the importance of veterans on a team, but you also need the hunger of prospects trying to prove themselves and creating energy on a team.

Id disagree with saying he has no confidence in GR.
