So I didn't see this brought up, and wanted to share.... First, the incident: youtube.com/watch?v=y7kRKus2FRQSecond, the article: tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=231940&hubname=nhlNow, my opinion. How did he get NO suspension, when Simon did this earlier, and got 30 games? You can't say Pronger isn't a past offender, because he has quite the rap sheet. It seems like the good 'ol NHL can't keep things straight. A "star" (and I use that term loosely) player can cheap shot their way to being "one of the best D-men in the league" (again, very loosely) and they don't get anything. How can you set a precedent with Simon, and not follow it out? What's the point then? Oh well, here's hoping for the Ducks to get smoked in the first round.

Just like BUTTMAN'S NHL - show "certain" players leniency - Pronger has been a dirty player for a loooong time and he pretty much continues to get a way with it - it's a d**n shame. Wonder what Cheli would have to say about this?

I think it's a shame Pinhead did not suffer a career ending injury when he tried to decapitate Yzerman. This goon does not play on the edge, he looks for every opportunity to injury his opponent. He's not out there looking to line someone up cleanly, he's looking to injure them.
We need some street justice meted out to this turd on skates. Every other tough guy in the league should be on notice to punish Pinhead EVERY single chance they can. Again, get rid of the instigator and let the big boys run at him over and over again, and you'll see either a change in his attitude or that hoped for career ending injury to him.
As far as buttman and colin go (geez, could these two A-wipes be named any more appropriately?), they are a bigger embarasement than Pinhead. Look at the great press they give the NHL. Simon, same career history of cheap play and suspensions gets 30, and Pinhead Pronger gets an absolute pass. No wonder the rest of the US thinks hockey is just WWF on skates.
Pinhead, Buttman and Colin. Reminds me of the three asses we have running for President.

Didn't you know that Edwards has already dropped out - that leaves only TWO asses running - Clinton and Obama. Not sure which one you were referring to. LOL

Allow me to take the Hairy Buttman/Colon Crampwell viewpoint ...
Ahem ...
It is apparent in this video that Mr. Pronger, (we're not allowed to address him in any other fashion), was battling furiously for the puck. In the course of providing all hockey fans the world over an example of what an exciting game we have here, he was brutally attacked by Ryan Kessler's legs. In the course of Mr. Pronger's courageous battle to free himself from Kessler's deathly grasp on his legs, Mr. Pronger, with no malice of forethought, accidently may or may not have made slight contact with Kessler's fully protected leg.
Keep in mind that a hockey player of Mr. Pronger's caliber brings fans to the games and provides entertainment for all fans of the great game of hockey. His legs are a vital tool in his mighty arsenal. When Kessler attempted to tie up Mr. Pronger's legs in that ungodly act, he put Mr. Pronger at great risk. He also put the great game of hockey that we all love at risk as well.
We looked at the tape and have decided that Mr. Pronger was merely attempting to save this great game of hockey.
We are all in his debt and bow at his feet to worship the almighty Mr. Pronger.
This in no way compares to the horrific incident involving Chris Simon. Simon's a friggin goon.
This release was approved by Mrs. Pronger
Brian ;D

WOW!!! ONLY an EIGHT game suspension for one of the "dirtiest" players in the NHL - Congrats to the NHL for doing it right? NOT!!! Why did Simon get 30 and Pronger only 8 (for basically the same act) - Star staus, that's why, and of course with the playoffs looming - GEEZ!! Another BUTTMAN/CAMPBELL double standard in its full glory -

Burke and Anaheim can do whatever they want. I think there's a conflict of interest going on between the NHL (buttman and colin) and Burke (since he used to work for the NHL and hand out suspensions). The ducks can do whatever they want without fear of reprisals. Like they pointed out in the last game against Detroit. The ducks pull so much crap during a game, the refs can't (or refuse) to call it all. They know they are going to get away with their share of bs.
And then when something big goes down (Holmstrom, McAmmond, Kesler) Burke makes a phone call to his old cronies and things just seem to work out for them. IMO, there is little to no difference between McSorely, Simon and pinhead. They are all goons.
pinhead has this reputation of being a "great" defenseman. Well, let me ask you this... How great do you think other 6'6" defensive behemoths would be if they were allowed to play outside the rules, without any fear of consequences? A guy with size who doesn't have to obey the same rules is going to get a hell of a lot more space out there and by default will be a "greater" player.
Pronger's a cheap goon. Nothing special. I would enjoy someone taking his punk butt out of this game. Especially if it was a nice clean hit. Hockey's a tough enough sell in the US without having to explain the permitted abuses of buttman's protected team.
Gary is an ass. And Colin's a pimple on it.
