Holy crap! Near bullet proof majority in the Senate, huge margin in the House AND the White House. All the socialists in America have to be crying tears of joy.
Well, at least we can all save a lot of travel money. Instead of having to fly overseas to visit France, we voted to become France last night.
Sad.

I wonder if he'll get "Joe the Plumber" confused with "The Joe"? At least Palin would know the players names! Brian I'm sure that we haven't seen the last of Sarah - (thank goodness for that) - she's going to get lots of "grooming" by the Republican party, and it figures that she'll be center stage when the party holds it's next convention - PALIN/ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT in 2012 UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO PEOPLE!

Obama hasn't even been Pres-elect for 24 hours and look at what's happening!
Russia has threatened to deploy short range missiles near Poland and has threatened to electronically jam our missile shield.
Hugo Chavez is glad that Obama won. He'll gladly meet with Obama to discuss improving relations between U.S.A. and Venezuela. He's such a happy little fellow now. He wants to be our friend.
Castro has said that we chose the more intelligent and less war prone of the two. Didn't really endorse him but didn't condemn him either. Then again, who the hell ever knows what Castro is thinking?
Kenya has said they expect to receive financial assistance from the US now.
And now Obama's already back-pedaling on his campaign promises. Now the tax break won't happen as soon as he wants it to because we're facing a trillion dollar debt. A trillion dollar debt caused by a 700 million dollar bailout which, with the pork the Dems attached to it, grew to 850 million. Add that to the 300 million in the stimulus package and there's your trillion dollar debt. Is this news to this clown? And because of this there may be no positive financial results for at least 2 terms. Big surprise there. I guess we should just default the 2012 elections to him right now huh?
I'll bet the tax increase will take effect pretty darn quick though. In fact, the agents for the baseball players are trying to get their players signed before Jan. 1. They want the contracts heavily front loaded with signing bonuses etc., so the amount is on the 2008 tax year.
The fun is starting already!

Brian No big Surprises here - But, it galls me that Barack HUSSEIN Obama was elected by the young, (newly registered), idealistic, ( and for the most part, unemployed students) - But why should they care - they're just looking for "free" aid to pay their schooling while in most cases not even paying taxes - The other thing that I'm really interested in seeing, is whether or not he changes Air Force One to his NO AMERICAN FLAG LOGO plane- You know, the one that had his campaign logo on it but no flags - YEP, that's a Great American, for sure. He probably consulted with Ayers on that too

Yeah, wait until they get out in the real world. They'll soon realize that there are no jobs available because the people that own those smaller companies that provided the stepping stone to the big boys have eliminated positions so the owners can offset their personal tax liability. And what do you think will happen to those high paying positions they so yearn for? Well, supply and demand. The jobs will be few so the salaries will drop because there will be a whole lot of people willing to sell their souls for a regular paycheck.
I don't blame the business owners one bit either. Hell, I know I'd be doing some cutting if Uncle Obummer told me he was grabbing an additional 11,500 bucks from me in addition to the 87,500 he already grabs. That 250k drops to 151k just like that. That cuts into the money I could put back into the business to purchase or upgrade equipment, add to the business, pay a portion of the salary for a new hire, etc. It may not seem like much but that 11,500 covers 33% of a 35,000 a year salary.
And once Obummer realizes that there's not enough dough in that kitty he'll look at a new source of tax revenue. And there isn't anywhere else to go but down the ladder. That's his version of trickle down economics.

Those same people were the ones telling me that I was "over analyzing everything". Duh? For some reason I feel like I should be thinking for myself. My generation is screwed if they are taking politicians at their word, and aren't looking into things.

So one of the top oil producing countries in the world wants to improve relations with our country... WHAT A HORRIBLE THING!
And i'm sure you're exactly right... Obama was only elected to office by 7% of the country... the "young, (newly registered), idealistic, (and for the most part, unemployed students)." The other 93% just stayed home or couldn't figure out their ballots. Hey - maybe they all graduated from the University of Idaho.

Let's look a some FACTS regarding WHY he won the election -
1. HUSSEIN won over 50% of 18-28 year old (vote) - (Major reason for victory)
2. You would have to look at voters between 45-64 before the percentages evened out
3. Highest turnout EVER (over 24 million - up 20%), of the 18 - 28 year old voter
4. Hussein won the popular vote by over 7.5 million - Hmmm... half of 24 million is 12 million (okay, MAYBE he didn't get all those 12 million so let's just use 50% -(yeh, right) - that gives us 6 million votes much more than the margin of plurality - and yes, I realize that the electoral college actually elects, (not popular vote) - but with those kind of numbers, it shoud be easy to figure out why Hussein won this election.
5. Examples: In North Carolina & Indiana HUSSEIN won more than 50% of the "youth" (no life experience) vote - HE LOST in EVERY other age group -
6. Now that the Democrats have the White House, increased majorities in BOTH the Senate and House of Representatives,(Pelosi and Reid didn't wait too long did they), I'm trying to figure out how they'll blame the Republicans for their failure to live up to all the campaign rhetoric of CHANGE - what we're going to get are more job losses,(see Granholm), higher taxes,(see Granholm), and increased risks to our national security,(okay, Jenny hasn't really effected that yet), - Ooops, my bad - I forgot, we're now going to negotiate with the terrorist organizations - that should make us all feel safer when we go to bed at night, right?

[quote author=griffan board= At least Palin would know the players names! Brian [/quote] Isn't it funny how some women are so jealous of others - ESPECIALLY the beauty's that come out of Idaho - and more specifically, the University of Idaho!

Yup, you've got it. I'm jealous of a 44 year old woman who graduated from the 170th ranked university in the country with the assistance of two community colleges along the way. That's something to aspire to.
It's possible that your age has contributed to your over-generalization of the 18-28 year old population. For many, in this group, this is their second or third election (not newly registered). Generally, students graduate at age 22 or 23... so by 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 they've been in the work force for a while (employed and living in the "real world"), several with homes, families, etc. I know it's been a LONG while, but i'm sure you can try to remember life at this age... i'm sure you were a hard-working, family man. We may be young, but we're not stupid... wait, how many have graduated from the University of Idaho??

So one of the top oil producing countries in the world wants to improve relations with our country... WHAT A HORRIBLE THING! Read your newspapers. It IS a horrible thing to negotiate with terrorists. Less your forget, Chavez threatened to kill our President. You know, bounty, the whole schmear. I don't care if you love or hate President Bush, there is no way in hell you can ever endorse a hit on the President of the United States. And it is only because of the general boycott of Citgo and Petro America that Chavez wants to talk. All he's thinking about is selling more oil to the US to raise more money for his nefarious endeavors (terrorism, he has many links). So please don't tell me your are supporting the assassination of a US president AND financing acts of terrorism against the US. Those are going to be difficult points to justify. And i'm sure you're exactly right... Obama was only elected to office by 7% of the country... the "young, (newly registered), idealistic, (and for the most part, unemployed students)." The other 93% just stayed home or couldn't figure out their ballots. You may want to re-read jacks six points, above. They are very difficult for you to refute. Hey - maybe they all graduated from the University of Idaho. Also, you might want to discontinue the name calling and personal attacks. This has often been a charge against the less educated and ignorant who argue from emotion (fiction) and not from fact. We may be young, but we're not stupid... wait, how many have graduated from the University of Idaho?? Young? Certainly. Stupid? Debatable, but at the very least ignorant due to the bias of the liberal brainwashing of our institutes of higher education. Notice, I do not blame you personally, but rather the apparent intolerant elitists who hold themselves above ridicule in their positions as university professors. They are the ones who mislead and misinform. Then they send you out into the world to spread "their" message. But do not take offense to that. We all bear some level of ignorance, just in different areas and subjects. That doesn't mean we can't educate ourselves more thoroughly so the next time an election comes up, we may be more versed in the facts and better able to cast an intelligent vote. how many have graduated from the University of Idaho?? Again, you should probably dispense with the personal attacks and insults. They do not make your point, and only demonstrate the weakness or lack of your argument. After all, you don't see others taking pot-shots at that Ann Arbor university that has fomented such vitriol. Just a thought.

In regards to Venezuela there are two facts that can't be negated: 1. The United States conducts business with Venezuela on a daily basis exporting millions of barrels of oil. 2. The United States has yet to put Venezuela the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. Until that happens (if it should ever happen) having an open, amiable relationship can only be in the best interest of this country. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, right? It is not a "personal attack or insult" it is a fact. Sara Palin (2012 right?) graduated from the University of Idaho after attending two community colleges and graduated with a degree in Journalistm. The University of Idaho is ranked #170 of all colleges and universities in this country. Excuse me if I think that intelligence and education are important building blocks to leading a country. Knowledge in politics, history, geography, law... again, nice information to have when running a country. An education from the University of Idaho is fine for a journalist, not fine for a potential president of the United States. Evidently that is something that is not important when you are an ex-beauty pageant winner and have a cute little accent. Pot is smoked in Ann Arbor. In fact, Ann Arbor still hosts hash-bash the first weekend each April if anyone wants to attend. But atleast while smoking pot, we receive a top-notch education. Ranked #26. Now, Roberto, i'm done.
