Hi Gang!
I might have just the thing to help you get through the few weeks remaining in between seasons. I don't know how I missed this one when it came out, but I just saw 'The Rocket,' a pretty strong film about Maurice Richard. The flick stars Roy Dupuis in the title role and features Patrick Roy, Matt Dandenault, and Mike Ricci as Toe Blake.
The flick is definitely a patriotic vehicle for les quebequois, and it specifically deals with anti-French politics in the NHL of the Richard era. Still, it has great production and, of course, it tells the story of one of our sport's greats.
Nothing nasty for the kids except mild violence.

...The flick stars... Mike Ricci as Toe Blake. Hell, it's probably worth it just to see the hair cut, eh? Thanks for the heads up, griffreak.

Hi, Guys.
Actually a genuine French Canadian [beware imitations!] loaned me a copy. He seems to be circulating the flick as a form of patriotic outreach. Oh, and RW, Richard's barber figures prominently. The movie came out in 2005, and I still wonder that none of us knew about it.
It's available at Amazon.
