Looks like our friend Todd is still in the news. I think if Bergoonzi, the Canucks, the NHL and Orca Bay Sports were smart, they'd find the number to satisfy Moore and make this thing go away with an out of court settlement. Regardless though, somehow this skating turd is going to make his way into the Calgary lineup. Man, how long before he retires? www.canada.com/calgaryherald/news/story.html?id=342554a8-ae42-480a-8661-9be8efd4df1c"The source feels Bertuzzi and the NHL will try to make the case that, by playing despite the threats of violence, Moore accepted a higher level of risk."To that, I can only add: Dave "Tiger" Williams, the Hank Aaron of NHL career penalty minutes, once said: "You consent to assault when you lace up your skates. It's what hockey is all about."

Bertuzzi's head is so far up his butt he has to eat through his navel.
As for Williams ... he's just as big an A$$HAT!
As a player, you assume the risk that you could be injured, possibly severely, by playing the game. You assume the risk that you may be involved in a fight or two. You assume the risk of flying pucks, errant sticks, hard bodychecks and all the other intangibles involved in playing a sport like hockey.
You do not assume that a player will drag you down from behind and drive your head into the ice surface fracturing your neck. If this had happened due to a fall in the course of a fight on the ice then yes, that would be an assumed risk IMO. But Moore never had the chance to defend himself. Buttoozie mugged him and cheapshotted him.
The Canucks organization actions confuse me a little. They seem to be sticking by Tard which only makes them look bad. It almost gives some measure of truth to Butthead's statements that he was told to take out Moore by the coach.

Especially about the organ-I-zation's handling of everything. It does give a degree of credibility to Big Tard's allegations. I would just think it should make sense for them to make this thing go away.

IMO - (NSHOC) I don't think this issue will ever fade from the headlines as long as this ass is in the game - he should've been thrown out of the game long ago - (then we wouldn't have had to deal with his presence in Detroit either) An out of court settlement would be the way to make this go away - let's hope it happens soon!! If it goes to court, I hope that Moore gets exactly the same compensation, (for damages), that "goonzie" has been paid while still playing - + an amount double that for his loss of ability for future earnings
