Hey - anyone else playing in the golf outing tomorrow at Railside?
If so, maybe we can get together for a moment or two -

As ususal, the Booster Club did a GREAT JOB manning the tees, etc. Kudos to them again!!!! My Team finished -12 (not good enough) but lots of fun. Got to meet and talk with new head coach - he seems ready to go!! Also, Darren McCarty was there and played golf - not sure how his team did though, but I did get his autograph on my '08 Stanley Cup hat. Too bad he didn't have the time to bring the cup to GR, but, He told a story of going to the Stroh's Ice Cream plant in Detroit, and eating ice cream sundaes out of it - WOW!! what an ice cream dish, huh? Also, Matt Ruchty was there, ( still looking ready to "go" at it with someone) and Mike Knuble was there too - he's really a great guy, and does lots of thing for local charities, and I hear he can really hit the golf ball. I played with an old coach of his - he tells me that Mike could've gone to college on a golf scholarship, but chose hockey instead. I did get his autograph for my daughters who went to E. Kentwood with him back in the late 80's

Thanks for the report, jacks. Sounds like a great day.
And I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Knuble. Salt of the earth kind of guy. I was so bummed when he left Detroit, but obviously, that was the best thing for his career. He simply wasn't going to get first or second line ice time at that time in Detroit. I am really happy to see his success.
